the curious case of benjamin strader

there are so many things that ben does right.
he takes care of me when i'm sick, encourages me anytime i want to go out with the girls, constantly makes me laugh, supports me in whatever i do, and is my partner in crime when it comes to potty-training. just the tip of the iceburg, i could go on & on.

that being said, the man can't be perfect...he's married to me. if someone absolutely perfect was married to someone with some very obvious flaws (moi), the universe would be knocked off its balance, wouldn't it?

i walked around the apartment today. and here is what i saw, all compliments of mr. benjamin. (this is serious, none of this was set up.)

i give you, exhibit A:

exhibit B:

exhibit C:

exhibit D:

i applaud him for giving it his best effort. i call them the "almost made-its" and really, am thankful he's trying. maybe after 6 more years, we can actually work to get all of these things just a couple of inches further to make their goal. we're almost there, i can feel it in my bones. in fact, just thinking about it gives me the chills.

so whaddaya say, sweet pea?

i'm just glad there is something he needs me around for. i was beginning to wonder what i could add to our relationship when he's so darn fantastic. love you bennigans!

Hee hee....I love it! Not unusual to not have things were we want them, but I love that it is so close but not there. That's hilarious! I'd be happy if I could even get that. However, dito on not having someone too perfect.....we need someone to compliment us so we can each make up for each other and help each other, right?! Too fun!

Just know you are not alone. I think most men a like that. Socks right in front of the hamper, dishes not in the dishwasher, etc. At least there are the things they do right that out weigh the bad :)

Lynsey! I have been missing you! I love reading your blog! It makes me laugh right out loud and brightens my day! I am so sorry that I didn't call you while we were just hours away from each other! I have to be honest, I was so busy! Katie didn't give me much time for anyone--not even my own husband and son! I realize that I should have called, but I spaced it! Sorry honey! I hope we can get together again one day! I hope! I hope! I hope!

Lynard, I can so relate! My other half is so completely capable of making 7 course gourmet meals, running a busy kitchen, and hello building our entire house...but do you think he can put a candy wrapper in the trash?! You can lead a horse to water...

That is hilarious, I could for sure post the same thing about my Ben. Maybe its the name, or maybe a guy thing, but I have just given up, so good for you giving him some credit that he can do it.

Oh gosh this is just like Nate. WHY is it SO HARD! Like the other day Nate actually volunteered to do the dishes. I was really impressed, as I can't remember the last time he did them. Anyway, a little later I go into the kitchen and what do I find, the dishes rinsed off still in the sink. Is it too difficult to actually put them in the dishwasher? And start it?

And YAY for the poop in the potty!!!! Potty training was a lot harder than I thought it would be so I know how it goes. You think SUCCESS and then it all falls apart and then you have success again... jenna's finally gotten it and it sounds like your little boy's about there too!

Wow! Can he start a training class for my husband??? Lol Actually...he's not QUITE perfect. I did notice a small speck of dried on food on the plate! Hey, I have to look for something to make myself feel better! =)

I laughed outloud at all your exhibit pictures - at least his socks are near the hamper, Matt's are strewn about the house and I pick them up like I"m his mom. Amen sista to all of it. Congrats to Caleb for getting closer to potty training, I think it's a big committment as a mom so congrats to you too. And thanks for the info on P90x, Matt thinks it looks so cool, and I"m glad ot get some honest feedback.
