a classic for the holidays....

well, it's that time of year again.
time for being grateful, buying and receiving gifts
and all that comes with holiday cheer.

if you're anything like me,
also included in the festivities is some fabulous family time.
maybe it's the fact that we'll be in arizona for thanksgiving and christmas
and i'm feeling a bit nostalgic.

so i thought i'd post a classic from a couple of years ago.
i still get the chills when i hear it.

not only do i love this song, but the lyrics pretty much sum up
relative get-togethers past, present and future.

it's chock full of family dysfunction at its best.

enjoy.

happy holidays everyone!

Love that song! I saw her live in Salt Lake City and we, the audience, got to sing all those various parts live that she loops here on this recording! It was SO awesome! She was the best I've ever heard her live in SLC. (heard her on youtube, that is... this was the first time I've heard her live for real!) It was INCREDIBLE!!!

I found out that she was in SLC just 2 weeks ago and I almost wept.

Lynz, I'm sure I've told you this before but this song SAVED me that horrible winter after the divorce. And I have you to thank.

BTW I've been trying not to think about the fact that you won't be here for the holidays this year and how I'm going to survive it all without you. So thanks for giving me a papercut and pouring lemon juice on it.

"Pour me another" - this is going to be my mantra this year to get thru.

I have to say about your posts about becoming a two car family-they are seriously hilarious. I don't usually laugh out loud at things (even reading the Sunday comics) but I busting a gut! I had to read them to Marc but halfway through I gave up because I laughing so hard and he had to read them to me. I cannot wait to see how this story concludes. You really do have a gift for writing :) Brooke Gilchrist

Oh, how I love Imogen! I went to her concert in SLC a few weeks ago, and couldn't find anyone to go with (Lauren, did you see my tweets for weeks?)

Just for Now was one of the best songs of the night. The whole audience did the singing that her audio looping usually does. Phenomenal.
