will his wish come true?

with caleb's birthday just a few short weeks away, i made the mistake of asking him what he wanted to get for a present.

what did he want? a new toy truck? a bike? a new movie? something a normal kid would ask for?

no.

a direct quote,

"i want a violin and a golf club."

i should have known. this is the same kid who asked for underpants for christmas. and guess what he got?? that's right. 10 pairs, coupled with the ominous words said by his mother, "and soon you'll get to wear them!"

so i guess i had it coming to me. but still.

the golf club i can handle...just get him a plastic one. but the violin??? any ideas??

I don't know about violins, but when my oldest was about 3 1/2 he wanted a guitar. We found a $30 actual guitar at Walmart and he got it for Christmas. He loved it, and played it all the time. Now, I don't know how to play the guitar really, and we weren't teaching him, but he'd put the strap on and strum and make up songs and run around the house. Eventually it got broken (the thing on the body of the guitar where the strings attach came off) but Noah bought a new one with his birthday money last year.

Anyhoo, it's not a violin, but it's $30 and it's at Walmart and relatively kidproof. Good luck.

Haha, I'm glad that Bennett won't be old enough to ask for a golf club and violin until we are out of school ;)!

I wish that we could have seen you too! But I totally understand about the kids! I hope to see you soon and I promise that I will let you know the next time I come into town :)

I say you give it to him. No joke. Wrap up a violin and a golf club and NOTHEN ELSE and when he opens them and two minutes later he's all bored and bummed be like "WELL YOU ASKED FOR IT".

I can bet you money that he'll be begging for lollipops and gumdrops this time next year.

What is up with our kids? A few days before Marcella's last b-day she cried for an hour because we told her she wasn't getting a violin.. Now she just pretends to play on a board and a pencil, you could try that... if you find a cheap one somewhere please let me know.
