more than you need

we came home yesterday even though we had the choice to stay until today. it felt so nice to be in our own space again after being interrupted about every 20 minutes by the lovely hospital staff. they really were great and very attentive, but i am telling you if i never see the blood pressure cuff again, that will be just fine with me.

i think the fact that all of the doctors come in to start their rounds at 6am is a mean joke. the moms barely sleep a wink all night, only to be woken up to get the full monty check-up bright and early.

other than the usual complaints of net underwear, stitches healing in the nether regions, a mean headache that comes and goes and my feet swollen up to about 4x their natural size due to all of the IV fluids (at one point i wondered if you can contract elephantitis during labor), i am feeling good. i get these crazy surges of adrenaline at odd hours so to those of you wondering why i'm blogging so soon, that is why. i don't know what else to do with my time at 2am.

will write about the birthing experience soon, whether you like it or not. but until then, here's some visual enjoyment, probably more pictures than what you need.

Love the photos! She is so tiny and adorable.
I remember being shocked when my feet started to swell. I couldn't wear anything but streched out flip flops for a week and half. I swear that I was a perfect candidate for elephantitis......

Congrats!!! She is beautiful, and so little. It is kind of making me baby hungry, but please don't tell my husband. I am so happy for you. She is amazing. Isn't our Father in Heaven so wonderful to send these little spirits to us. You are such a great mom and this little girl is so lucky to have you, Ben & a great big brother. Good luck the next few days, that is the biggest change.
Love y,a
Britt

I can't get over how cute she looks! She doesn't have the awkward newborn baby look at all! She is beautiful! Seriously. Anyway, thanks for sharing. Can't wait to hear more about the delivery. And you look GREAT for just having a baby. Are you kidding me? I stay in my pjs for a good week before I'm ready to get all primped up! lol

She is so adorable! Good to hear that you are all doing well! I remember the swollen feet too. It's not fun to have to wear flip-flops in March in Rexburg.

If you ask me, there's not nearly enough pictures! I want to see her hair, her toes - every sweet little feature. She's just gorgeous. I especially love that ruby red mouth - like a tiny rosebud!

Congratulations! She's absolutely beautiful and, DANG, you look great! Thanks for sharing some pictures... blogging would seem to be something you can do without too much strain on your psyche or the nether regions, and I'm so glad you did! :)

And, for the record, I can't wait for the birth story! They are my favorite!

Never enough photos! She is absolutely darling! And I'm so glad that you are home. I like to get home as soon as possible too. It's just nice to be in your own space and try to find your new normal. She's gorgeous! And I can't wait to hear all about your birth! Good luck with the recovery. I've never had an episiotomy and I can't imagine it would be a fun. Did I mention she is beautiful?! So so cute!

I am anxiously awaiting your story of the birth. Leah is beautiful! I wish I could come and hold her while you and Ben made jokes and I laughed until I was crying.
We were going to drive home and I had you on the list of stops. We then decided to take our car with us and so we have to fly home so they can ship the car. LAME! Will I ever see you again? Will Mike ever get to hang out with you and Ben? What is going on here?!!
I loved the pics--keep them coming! You look great and Caleb is so handsome! That's great your dad was able to come down.

Congratulations on your sweet baby! You look great and I can totally understand coming home to your own space, although it really means you are on your own. SHe is beautiful, and so little, it will be fun to have a newborn and not quite to big.

Congratulations!!! She is so cute and tiny. That is not too many pictures. I don't think you can ever get enough pictures of newborns. I'm glad everything is well. I heard Lauren is coming out to help. That will be nice.

I'm dying over here. Is that a touch of red hair I see? More pictures please! You know I'm impartial, - she is stinkin' cute. You're looking good too. How do you not get a pregnant face? I look like a puffy mess for weeks after I bring home baby.

Lyns,

Congratulations! Isn't it great to be done with pregnancy!? There isn't anything as wonderful as a squishy little newborn. Did you have her early? She looks beautiful and you look fantastic. Great description of Hospital Joys. Good thing it all passes quickly and you can move on to better days. Hope you have a speedy recovery. Looking at your pics makes me SO excited for May to arrive.
